With only a day left until Halloween, the first treat you can gobble up is a short list of simple safety tips. Halloween's a time for tricks, treats and fun, but accidents are a looming threat. Tripping injuries and other accidental falls are common. And worse, children are four times more likely to die as pedestrians on Halloween than on any other night of the year. To be safe, walk, slither, and sneak on sidewalks, not in the street. Look both ways before crossing the street to check for cars, trucks, and low-flying brooms. Cross the street only at corners, take a flashlight and make sure your costume either glows in the dark or has some type of reflective tape. Parents should accompany younger children and make sure costumes don't impair your little one's vision or movement.
