Melissa, whitewater rafting is indeed a dangerous, but fun activity.  I went for the first time this past summer with a group on the Upper Yougiogheny River in N.W. Maryland.  Class 5 Rapids -- very scary, challenging and a real workout.  I fell in 3 times, but luckily no injuries to me or any serious injuries to anyone in our group.  Ironically, while I was braving the rapids, my wife was "safe at home" when lightning struck our condo building!

That is a lot of good info.  I have not got a chance to go yet.  Hopefully this summer.

Melissa, I'm not sure this is the sport for me anymore--or if it ever was.  But my daughter has been wanting to do this for a long time.  I know it can be dangerous but I also know many people love it!  Wonderful list you've put together.

Melissa I can't believe how much information provided. You certainly provided an extensive list of resources. I am glad we don't live nearby. My husband loves adventurous sports. He is on his own though.
